Tomorrow marks the annual celebration of Malaysia's 64th Independence Day or Merdeka, our beloved country with diverse biodiversity and strong cultural heritage that play a significant role in our design to date.
Merdeka is a pivotal historical event that was hard-earned through our forefathers' blood, sweat, and tears.
While this is another year of quiet celebration due to the pandemic, let us take this opportunity to cherish the sacrifices made in the past that have allowed us to enjoy our present freedom.
And thus, in dedication to Hari Merdeka, we bring you this futuristic voxel concept design (an animated visualisation of 3D printing in TerraLiving) based on our landmark skyscraper, the Petronas Twin Towers, where people and mother nature can coexist within the same space.
The future could also see similar green skyscrapers be built to facilitate vertical farms and hanging gardens, which would provide the city's population with fresher produce while reducing the need for long-distance transportation and cross-continental logistics.
